Associated Physical and Mental Consequences of the Silent Killer Stress
Stress has a well-deserved nickname the “silent killer”, because what you don’t realize might be killing you. Both short and long periods of stress affects your mental and physical body in a myriad of life threatening ways.
Managing your unhealthy level of stress helps prevent illness, or the worsening of problems that already exist, such as these:
- diabetes
- headaches
- heart problems
- reduced fertility
- trouble sleeping
- lowered sex drive
- weight gain or loss
- high blood pressure
- neck and/or back pain
- constipation or diarrhea
- irritable bowel syndrome
- depression and/or anxiety
- eating too much or too little
- asthma and arthritis flare-ups
- lack of energy and concentration
- stomach cramping, bloating
- skin problems ~ hives, rashes
- irritability, tension, anger, sadness
If you are exhibiting any of these common stress related physical or mental consequences of a stress-filled silent killer, you must do whatever is necessary to make stress management your life’s priority. For all of your other “must do firsts” will be meaningless if you are not around to do them.
